Methodologically, handling within the assay is the central concern: peptides adsorb to plastic surfaces and thereby lose effective concentration, so carrier protein in the buffer, the choice of vessel material, avoidance of repeated freeze-thaw cycles, and a clean dilution series determine how robust the resulting cytokine data will be.
