What is the difference between mg, mcg and units?

mg (milligrams) is the amount of peptide in the vial. mcg (micrograms) is your single dose – 1 mg = 1,000 mcg. Units are the markings on the insulin syringe: on every standard insulin syringe, 1 unit = 0.01 ml. The scale does not change with syringe size – only the maximum capacity does (30, 50 or 100 units).

How much bacteriostatic water should I use?

The water volume determines the concentration and therefore how many units you draw up per dose. More water = lower concentration = more units per dose (easier to read precisely). Less water = higher concentration = fewer units. Choose the volume so that your target dose can be read comfortably on the syringe scale. How long a prepared solution remains stable is explained in the Storage & Stability guide.

Why does the same dose correspond to a different number of markings?

The markings on a syringe vary with its size, which is why the same dose can correspond to a different number of markings on different syringes. The calculator always converts your volume correctly into the matching number of units and warns you if the amount does not fit into the selected syringe.
